Just returned from a very pleasant weeks fishing at barn view. Over the years of french fishing trips I have used numerous modes of transport and tackle options, this time was the first time I have flown and hired tackle and I can honestly say it was the best thing I decided to do. The flying and lack of carrying tackle made the whole holiday a much better experience, so I strongly recommend this option and I will most definitely always travel this way from now on. Airport transfers were also taken care of by Helen and Colin so that’s another thing to make the journey much easier. Now for the part I wish to commend the most….The Hosts….Helen and Colin are absolutely the most hospitable people I have ever encountered in my life. Helen cooks everything homemade every meal. Colin’s knowledge of Fisheries Management and fish welfare is of the highest possible standard, to encounter a host with such high standards, passion and care is genuinely a breath of fresh air especially because I myself have trained as a Fisheries Manager. My niece unfortunately broke her arm at home in England whilst we were on the lake and these amazing hosts were checking on how she was doing every single day, literally showing how much care, compassion and hospitality they have. Both Helen and Colin go above and beyond to provide the most comfortable time on their lake and to be honest they made me feel like family. I will most definitely be back and I can’t wait to see you both again, very soon I hope

Upon returning from a weeks fishing trip at Barn View I feel the need to make a sincere recommendation. We have been on many French fishing trips over the years using many different modes of transport, this time my party and I decided to book a flight package and what a delight that was. Firstly we were able to travel relatively light with no bulky tackle as we hired the tackle from Helen and Colin. We also decided to take advantage of the food package that Helen provides as well adding further to lighter travel. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted at the airport by Helen and Colin who had arranged our transfer to the lake for us. We had a pleasant transfer and approximately 40 minutes later we arrived at Lake Barn View. Upon arrival we were familiarised with the lake and facilities, such facilities I can only describe as luxurious with a five star hotel feel to them. The lake itself was very well presented with evenly spaced spacious swims. Helen and Colin are the most hospitable people I have met, Helen provided fresh home cooked food at breakfast and dinner, she would check that everyone in the party liked what she planned to cook and amended anything that was to anyones distaste. Colin was always readily available to provide assistance to anyone in the party with his wealth of knowledge further to this he would happily help with any fishing tips and ideas he had to help trip up these majestic carp. The fish themselves were in pristine condition and beautiful to look at. I can say on behalf of myself and my party that we will return to Lake Barn View in the future with the flight and meal packages being our choice from now on. I’d also just like to note that should you get to encounter Helens Mum Lorraine you will find that she too is a very warm, hospitable and kind lady. Many thanks Helen, Colin and Lorraine for a lovely week, we look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Well after 2 years of waiting to go to Barnview due to covid restrictions it was really worth the wait after arriving we were greated by Helen and Colin who have become really close friends not only are they both fantastic hosts they are fantastic people nothing is too much trouble whatever you need they will do it and get it for you

on arrival we were shown the brand new toilet and shower facilities which is clear its like home from home and even better the shower is a wet room with a lovely big shower head which is lovely and refreshing to chill in

Helen and Colin have worked tirelessly to making the whole place a little slice of heaven

When you get down to lake you will be greated with a treat its 3 acres of shear joy the swims are all purpose built to a very high standard the swim I was in was like being in your own little sanctuary which Helens mum mentioned to me. they allowed me to name the swim "The Sanctuary" which is very humbling

I can assure you that you will NOT go hungry the food is amazing and the portions are enough for any Angler

Getting onto the fish they are all in fantastic condition and are growing fast . And they fight like crazy clearly extremely well fed and fit Carp

I will definitely be returning To Barnview lake not only to see H and C again but to tread the grounds of the beauty that is Barnview xx
